PS-3 Digital Pitch Shifter/Delay
The PS-3 contains both a pitch-shifter and a delay. There is seven pitch shift modes, and three delay modes as well as an expression mode. The pitch shift level is selectable in 26 steps - 24 chromatic steps over a +/- 1 octave range plus 2-octave up-down capability. The delay is up to a maximum of 2000 ms just like the DD-5.

The high quality PS-3 combines a pitch-shifter and delay. It has seven pitch shift modes, three delay modes (2000ms max) and an expression mode. Pitch shift amount is selectable in 26 steps - 24 chromatic steps over a +/-1 octave range plus 2 octave up-down capability. This enables true 2-voice pitch shifting, a first in compact effects pedals. Uses the BOSS original AF method.
Using the PS-3
For a ring modulated sound: A tremolo-like effect can be obtained by greatly increasing the pitch shift amount with mode 5. This effect creates a ring modulated sound. (Fig. 1: Balance 10, F.Back 5, D.Time 10, Mode 5)
Detune Chorus: Creates a chorus sound that has minimal fluctuations. (Fig. 2: Balance 5, F.Back 4, D.Time 6, Mode 8)
For a major chord sound: This setup adds third and fifth notes to the original note to create a major chord sound. To get a more spacious sound, try lowering the thirds by one octave. (Fig. 3: Balance 10, F.Back 4, D.Time 7, Mode 10)
