The panel also offered plot details about Soul — souls are all trained at the "You Seminar," and once ready, your soul graduates. But for Joe Gardner, his life hasn't quite gone as he expected. He's a high school band teacher with a passion for being a jazz musician in his own right. But just as he's about to achieve his dreams, he dies, and his soul ends up at the seminar.
Thus far, all that was truly known about the film was that it would be directed Pixar's CCO Pete Docter. Pixar Soul release date is June 19, 2020, the movie's logo, and the following vague plot synopsis:
“Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you ... YOU?” It describes “a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life’s most important questions."
