Lionel Messi will be joining the Barbie Signature universe as one of Mattel’s next Kenbassadors.
The Kenbassador concept was introduced with the LeBron James doll and appears to be developing into a series dedicated to influential men whose public image extends beyond their professional careers. Messi is a natural choice for the line: alongside his extraordinary achievements in football, he has become one of the most internationally recognizable sports figures of his generation.
The Lionel Messi doll is expected to feature a newly created portrait sculpt intended to capture his facial features, hairstyle and beard. His tattoos also appear likely to be reproduced, including the detailed sleeve tattoo on his right arm.
Messi is expected to be dressed in a casual Adidas outfit consisting of a zip-front jacket and coordinating trousers. The jacket is likely to include both Adidas branding and Messi’s personal logo, along with contrasting panels, sleeve stripes and decorative piping.
Under the jacket, the doll is expected to wear a miniature version of Messi’s Argentina national team jersey, with MESSI and the number 10 printed on the back.
