New Barbie Mermaid dolls have saran hair!
First Barbie doll released with Odile face mold was Barbie 2020 Flight of Fashion.
Angel Kent was responsible for the design of the new mold. Flight of Fashion Barbie received a new face, remotely resembling Steffie face from 1971. Mattel named the new doll Odile, and for two years Barbie Flight of Fashion was the only doll released on this mold.
Unexpectedly, in 2022, Odile reappeared as part of the Holiday Barbies Collection - redheaded Barbie with the "side-eye" was released as an exclusive from Walmart.
Also many doll artists worked on this mold at various conventions, and as a result, some very worthy auction OOAKs have seen the light of day.
And now Barbie Odile face mold can be seen on new playline dolls!
